We began organizing this artistic extravaganza 25 years ago and it has reached heights that not even we could have imagined. Thecommitment with which we began stays with us today and motivates us daily to continue creating this unique, communal creative, emotional, reflective, and integrating event.... This year we will celebrate the unimaginable-- 25 years of success, all thanks to our shared determination and collaboration. And at this moment it’s important to remember that only the will of the many can enable the creation of new models of communication and relationships with the community through art. We therefore offer this request for proposals for artistic collaboration: theatre, dance, circus, music, video, cinema, projections, videogames, video art, animation, moving spectacles, plastic performances, art, photography. Basically, we welcome any and all emergent, experimental, dangerous, original and creative proposalsand we hope you will present your activities, your projects, organizations, groups, courses and more...(Performancesmust not be longer than10 minutes).
The Marató has always been a platform that has given visibility, opportunities for experience and exchange, and inspiration to many. We would not have been able to create this unique truly event without the help from the press, the organizers, the public and of course, the collaborating artists themselves. Barcelona has been home to this, open, festive, multi-layered and multi-cultural artistic extravaganza but its impact has gone beyond borders, receiving the recognition of international professionals. The Marató is already part of Barcelona’s cultural history and has become a point of reference for our community. The Marató has offered us chance for numerous friendship, magic moments, and endless learning.The collective tremendous generosity of everyone involved have indeed turned this event into one of our lifetime’s most important moments.
