FESTIVAL DIES DE DANSA

The promotion of contemporary dance by bringing it to a larger public.
The creation of circuits that decentralize the medium, enrich theexperience of national companies and generate an interchange with foreign companies.
Create a place which stimulates creativity by inviting artists to create something non-conventional in a specific space.
Generate debate and reflection by departing from the idea of public spaces, people and their relationship with dance.
Exist as a dance platform, a showcase for the companies taking part in the event promoting their employment.
Enhance dance through the organization of workshops where schools, associations, institutions of dance and other festivals can take part in. It aims at getting them involved and stimulating cooperation among entities, experimental value, search and creativity;
The national and international recognition of the festival and by doing so, Catalonia and Spain.

DIES DE DANSA is part of the International Network of Dance Festival in Urban Landscapes CQD - Ciudades Que Danzan (Dancing Cities).

At the present moment, the network includes 30 European and Latin-American festivals.

Its main objetive is to encourage the collaboration and the creation of joint projects between festivals that programme dance in urban space.
